LunaX™ CoreMatrix is a low-viscosity, tunable ECM designed for automated workflows, high-throughput screening, and bioprinting. Its temperature-stable formulation enables consistent handling at room temperature, making it ideal for reproducible 3D spheroid and co-culture models.

LunaX™ CoreMatrix is engineered for seamless integration into automated platforms, offering reliable performance in 96- and 384-well plate formats and compatibility with robotic liquid handlers and bioprinters. Its stiffness can be finely modulated via visible light-mediated crosslinking, enabling the modelling of diverse physiological and pathological microenvironments.

Its room-temperature-stable formulation allows efficient dispensing and processing, making it ideal for scalable generation of 3D spheroids and co-culture models. This platform supports applications in oncology, barrier models, and drug screening where reproducibility and throughput are critical.

How LunaX™ CoreMatrix​ Works

The LunaX™ CoreMatrix are tunable hydrogel systems engineered to enable precise modulation of ECM stiffness while preserving cellular viability and function.

Crosslinking is driven by a photoinitiator that undergoes activation upon exposure to cytocompatible blue visible light (λ = 405 nm), initiating a controlled polymerisation reaction. Stiffness can be incrementally increased by extending the duration of light exposure, allowing fine-tuned adjustment of the mechanical microenvironment. This approach facilitates the generation of physiologically relevant 3D models that recapitulate tissue-specific or disease-associated ECM mechanics, including progressive stiffening observed in tumorigenesis and fibrosis.
